Cathy Kenton

Cathy began her legal career as a certified litigation paralegal for law firms in San Diego. Utilizing her legal, sales, and marketing experience, she joined Abacus Data Systems in 1992 serving as Vice President of Sales & Marketing for nine years. While at Abacus, Ms. Kenton directed all sales and marketing efforts while building the company and products into a well-respected brand leader. She developed and managed sales projections, marketing budgets, negotiated business development opportunities with other vendors and bar associations, and managed operations.

In 2001, Ms. Kenton joined Law.com, the largest online provider of news, CLE and other resources vital to the daily practice of law, as Director of Marketing. During her tenure, she redeployed the Online CLE Center immediately transforming it to the most profitable product center. The strategy is still in use today.

After leaving Law.com, Cathy became an entrepreneur and started Legal World Marketing, which is well known throughout the legal vendor community. Now, through Legal Vertical Strategies, Cathy uses her knowledge of the legal industry to assist legal vendors with strategic marketing decisions, business development, and tactical marketing efforts to assist them in increasing their market share and delivering their products and services to attorneys, law firms, and general counsel.
